Blancpain's Bathyscaphe 5000A 0640 O52A, known as the Blue Abyss, has a 43.6 mm ceramic case. Thickness measures 13.8 mm, and the lug width comes in at 23 mm. The sunburst blue dial sits under a sapphire crystal and shows a central seconds hand and a date window. Inside is the self-winding calibre 1315, with a power reserve of 120 hours. The movement includes Blancpain's secured mechanism, which protects the gear train when setting the time or date. A sail-canvas strap closes with a pin buckle. The case holds a water resistance rating of 300 metres.
