Blancpain Bathyscaphe

Blancpain's Bathyscaphe 5000 1210 98S is a dive watch with a 43 mm titanium case. The case measures 13.45 mm thick, and the anthracite dial sits under a sapphire crystal. A unidirectional rotating bezel surrounds the dial, matched closely to its tone. Inside is the self-winding calibre 1315, which stores up to 120 hours of power reserve, a long run for an automatic movement. The dial also carries central seconds and a date display, kept simple against the anthracite background. The satin-brushed titanium strap closes with a folding clasp, so the case, dial and strap share one material throughout. Blancpain rates the case to 300 metres, solid figures for a watch built for diving rather than display alone.
