Swiss family-owned manufacturer of chronograph modules and complications, producing over 75% of components in-house and supplying prestigious watch brands worldwide.
Founded in 1901 by Marcel Dépraz in the Vallée de Joux as Société Individuelle Marcel Dépraz, specializing in chronographs for brands like Breitling, Excelsior, and Minerva. In 1910, a parts manufacturing entity was established with stepbrother Marius Guignard. Reynold Dubois, Marcel's son-in-law, joined in the 1930s, leading to the combined Dubois Dépraz name. The company launched the Calibre 48 chronograph in 1937, producing over 3.5 million units. In the 1960s, Dubois Dépraz collaborated on the groundbreaking Chronomatic Calibre 11, the first automatic chronograph, with Heuer-Leonidas, Breitling, and Büren. The chronograph module 2000, introduced in the early 1980s, became a flagship product fitting ETA or manufacture movements, with over 2 million units produced. Today, the company remains family-run by the fourth generation (Pierre, Jean-Philippe, and Pascal Dubois), employing 380-430 staff across four Vallée de Joux sites.
