AKRIVIA is a young independent watchmaking atelier based in Geneva's Old Town, founded by Rexhep Rexhepi. The brand name derives from the Greek word for 'precision,' reflecting its dedication to exceptional hand-finishing and traditional haute horlogerie techniques. Producing fewer than 30 watches annually, each timepiece is assembled entirely by one watchmaker and features in-house movements with 21st-century finesse applied to traditional construction.
Rexhep Rexhepi was born in 1987 in Kosovo. At age 15, he began his apprenticeship at Patek Philippe in Geneva, where he excelled as one of their best-performing students. He later worked at BNB Concept, a movement think-tank founded by former Patek Philippe watchmakers, and then at F.P. Journe, where he assembled their most complex timepieces. In 2012, on his 25th birthday, Rexhepi founded AKRIVIA with 100,000 Swiss francs in savings. Initially producing prototypes for other brands, he focused on developing AKRIVIA from 2015 onwards. The brand debuted at Baselworld in 2018 and introduced the Chronomètre Contemporain that same year under the founder's personal signature 'Rexhep Rexhepi.' The watch won the GPHG Men's Watch prize in 2018, with its successor RRCC II winning again in 2022.
