
Andreas Strehler
ActiveIndependent Swiss watchmaker based in Sirnach, designing, constructing, and manufacturing movements in his own workshop. Prix Gaia laureate and member of the AHCI.
Born in 1971 in Winterthur, Andreas Strehler began his watchmaking apprenticeship in Frauenfeld in 1987, graduating in 1991. He worked for four years at Renaud & Papi as head of prototype development. On January 1, 1995, he opened his own workshop. In 2000, he was appointed member of the AHCI. From 2003 to 2011, he developed movements for H. Moser & Cie, including the Perpetual Moon with a deviation of one day in 1,000 years. In 2005, he founded UhrTeil AG, a micromechanical design and manufacturing company. In 2006, he developed Le Chronographe for Maurice Lacroix, their first in-house movement. The Harry Winston Opus 7 followed in 2007. The Papillon wristwatch debuted in 2008 and the Cocon in 2012. In 2013, he received the Prix Gaia. His Sauterelle a lune perpetuelle holds a Guinness World Record for the most precise moon phase, deviating one day in 2,060,757 years. In 2023, he formally launched the STREHLER brand.
