Swiss independent watchmaker specializing in innovative in-house movements featuring the proprietary High Performance Escapement (HPE), perpetual calendars, flying tourbillons, and the revolutionary Slow Runner caliber with a 1Hz frequency—the slowest-running mechanical movement in modern watchmaking.
Antoine Martin was established in 2010 when master watchmaker Martin Braun, after leaving his eponymous brand (acquired by Franck Muller's Watchland group), founded MHO AG (Manufacture Horlogère Obwalden) in 2009 with entrepreneur Antoine Meier. The brand name combines the first names of both founders. Bruno Jufer, with extensive experience at Maurice Lacroix, Jaquet Droz, Zenith, and Carl F. Bucherer, was appointed CEO in 2010. The first collection debuted at Baselworld 2011, featuring the AM 39.001 caliber—a hand-wound perpetual calendar with 6-day power reserve and the innovative HPE escapement using silicon components. In 2013, Antoine Martin introduced the groundbreaking Slow Runner with caliber AM 36.001, beating at just 7,200 vibrations per hour (1Hz)—less than half the frequency of any other modern mechanical watch. In early 2014, Martin Braun assumed leadership after Bruno Jufer departed for Eterna. The brand has since become dormant.
