DeWitt is an independent Swiss haute horlogerie manufacture founded by Count Jérôme de Witt, a fifth-generation descendant of Napoleon Bonaparte. The brand creates handcrafted luxury timepieces featuring elaborate complications, distinctive imperial-inspired aesthetics, and in-house movements. Known for producing approximately 500 watches annually with exceptional attention to detail and exclusivity.
DeWitt was founded in 2003 by Count Jérôme de Witt, whose illustrious ancestry includes Emperor Napoléon, King Jérôme-Napoléon of Westphalia, and King Léopold II of Belgium. Captivated by horology from a young age, de Witt began assembling a team of watchmaking experts in 2002 to realize his vision of creating a different kind of haute horlogerie manufacture. The brand was built on the foundation of Cédric Johner, an already successful Swiss luxury watch manufacturer. DeWitt quickly established itself as a leader in technical innovation and artistic expression, combining exceptional technology with noble techniques and deep respect for watchmaking heritage. The manufacture houses one of the world's largest collections of antique watchmaking tools dating from the 18th and 19th centuries in its dedicated museum, reflecting the founder's passion for preserving horological traditions while pushing the boundaries of modern watchmaking.
