According to the brand, it was founded in Bristol by furniture designer and watch collector Charlie Fowler. Official pages list a Bristol postal address and current Model Three watches. Alkin designs British watches with a focus on simplicity, function, legibility and longevity. Watch heads are made in the Far East and straps come from Germany; current Model Three watches use Miyota 9039 automatic movements, and earlier models used the Seiko NH35A. Because Alkin uses sourced movements and overseas watch-head production rather than brand-owned manufacture, it is classified as design_only.
