Official Alkin sources say the brand was founded in Bristol by furniture designer and watch collector Charlie Fowler, but do not provide a precise founding year. Official pages list a Bristol postal address and current Model Three watches. Alkin designs British watches with a focus on simplicity, function, legibility and longevity. Official sources state that watch heads are made in the Far East, straps come from Germany and current Model Three watches use Miyota 9039 automatic movements; secondary coverage supports earlier Seiko NH35A use. Because Alkin uses sourced movements and overseas watch-head production rather than brand-owned manufacture, it is classified as design_only.
