Victorinox AG is a Swiss knife manufacturer and watchmaker founded in 1884 by Karl Elsener in Ibach, Switzerland. The company is world-renowned for its Swiss Army knives and has been the sole supplier of multi-purpose knives to the Swiss Army since acquiring rival Wenger in 2005. Victorinox entered the watch business in 1989 under the 'Swiss Army' brand name in the United States. The watch collections range from luxury dress watches to rugged diving watches, all produced in Switzerland. The I.N.O.X. collection is famous for its extreme durability claims, including being run over by a tank. Victorinox is owned by the Victorinox-Stiftung (90%) and Carl und Elise Elsener-Gut Stiftung (10%), maintaining its status as a family foundation-owned company. The company produces approximately 34,000 Swiss Army knives daily.
