Swiss watch manufacturer founded in 1888, known for the Worldmaster collection and a pioneering history in waterproof watches and the Speed Switch date mechanism.

Founded in 1888 by Eduard Kummer in Bettlach, near Grenchen, originally as EKB (Eduard Kummer Bettlach) producing parts for pocket watches. By 1904 the factory produced 600,000 watches annually with up to 720 employees. In the 1930s, the ébauches factory was taken over by Ébauches SA, and ASUAG integrated the rest of the company. The Atlantic brand name was first used for waterproof wristwatches around 1930 and officially registered in 1941. In 1953, the company renamed to Fabrique d'Horlogerie Atlantic. The 1960 Speed Switch patent allowed dates to change 52 times faster than before. Poland became the key market from the 1950s onward. After the quartz crisis, Atlantic was sold in 1984 to director Heinz Pauli, becoming Compagnie des Montres Atlantic. In 1989 the company was bought again, becoming Atlantic Watch Production. In 2022, the brand launched its own manufacture calibers ATL-1 and ATL-2.
