Independent Swiss haute horlogerie brand combining British horological heritage with Swiss craftsmanship. Known for bold, contemporary timepieces featuring the iconic topping tool motif, distinctive Piccadilly case design, and hand-fired enamel dials. Creates limited edition watches with in-house movements developed at their Le Cercle des Horlogers atelier.
Founded in 2002 by English watchmaker Peter Speake-Marin in Bursins, Switzerland. Born in Essex, England in 1968, Peter trained at Hackney Technical College in London before studying horological complications at WOSTEP in Neuchâtel. After seven years restoring antique watches at Somlo Antiques in Piccadilly, London, he joined Renaud & Papi (now Audemars Piguet Renaud & Papi) in 1996. The brand's first creation was the Foundation Watch, a hand-crafted tourbillon pocket watch that established the signature topping tool motif and spade-shaped hands. This piece earned Peter membership in the Académie Horlogère des Créateurs Indépendants (AHCI). In 2012, entrepreneur Christelle Rosnoblet acquired the brand and became CEO. Peter departed in 2017. In 2015, a new movement strategy was initiated to develop in-house calibres, and in 2014-2020 the brand invested in Le Cercle des Horlogers workshop in the Neuchâtel area. Headquarters moved from Bursins to Geneva in 2019.
