Fritz Meyer established the workshop behind ROAMER in Solothurn in 1888. It developed into Meyer & Stüdeli, producing MST movements and complete watches. The company adopted the ROAMER Watch Co. SA name in 1952 and patented its watertight Anfibio case in 1955. Its first quartz movement appeared in 1972; the Competence collection marked a renewed mechanical-watch focus in 2003. Current contact details place the brand in Wallbach. In a 2025 interview, Christian Frommherz described a business focused on design, assembly and distribution, using Ronda quartz movements and Sellita and Soprod mechanical movements rather than operating as a full movement manufacture.
