Record
DefunctSwiss watch company founded in 1903, known for railway pocket watches. Acquired by Longines in 1961.
Record was founded in 1903 in Tramelan, Switzerland. The brand gained recognition in 1960 when its pocket watch (caliber 435B) became the first Swiss watch to achieve wide acceptance on US railroads, meeting stringent railway timekeeping standards. Longines acquired Record in 1961, and the brand subsequently produced watches with the Record Longines dual signature. The brand later moved operations to Saint-Imier. Though production continued until the 1990s under the Longines umbrella, the Record brand is now defunct. Vintage Record watches, particularly railway-grade pocket watches, are collectible today.
