Swiss watch brand that displays time using colored fluids in a glass capillary, powered by mechanical bellows.

HYT (Hydro Technology) was founded in 2012 in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. The brand combines mechanical watch movements with micro-fluidic technology, using two immiscible colored liquids in a nano-engineered glass capillary tube to indicate the hours. The concept originated from Lucien Vouillamoz, who spent over a decade developing the fluidic module. The first watch, the H1, was presented at Baselworld 2012 and won the Best Horological Invention prize at the Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix the same year. HYT's system uses a mechanical movement that drives two bellows, compressing and releasing the fluids along the capillary. A companion hand indicates minutes. The brand has produced several collections including H1 through H5, the Hastroid, and the Moon Runner. HYT ceased operations briefly in 2021 but was revived by its management and investors, relaunching with new models including the Hastroid and Moon Runner collections.
