The IWC Schaffhausen Portugieser Automatic 42, reference IW501707, has a 42.4 mm case in 18 ct 5N gold measuring 13 mm thick. A sapphire crystal covers the black dial, while a second sapphire crystal forms the display back. The self-winding IWC-manufactured calibre 52011 uses Pellaton automatic winding and provides 168 hours of power reserve. It runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour with 31 jewels and 249 components. The dial shows small hacking seconds, a date display and a power reserve indicator. The rotor carries an 18-carat gold medallion. IWC rates the watch to 50 metres. A black alligator leather strap by Santoni is fitted at the 22 mm lugs.
