The EPSON-VS71 is a solar-powered quartz chronograph movement manufactured by ETA SA in Japan. It features a rechargeable capacitor that stores energy from light passing through a dial requiring at least 20% transparency. The movement operates at 32,768 Hz and includes a low battery indicator that causes the seconds hand to jump every two seconds for up to a week before the capacitor depletes. Notable for its bi-compax layout, the VS71 appeared in markets starting in 2017.
