German watch brand exclusively dedicated to single-hand timepieces, inspired by medieval clock towers and the simplified perception of time. Known for Bauhaus-influenced aesthetics, clean designs, and Swiss-made mechanical movements.
MeisterSinger was founded in 2001 by Manfred Brassler in Münster, Germany, following the sale of his previous company Watch People in 1999. A self-taught jeweler, Brassler's vision was to create watches that return to the origins of timekeeping—when medieval clock towers displayed time with just a single hand. The brand name references German singers from the 15th and 16th centuries who introduced new melodic elements, and the logo features a fermata (the musical pause symbol). The debut model, aptly named N°01, established the aesthetic for all future models with its highly legible dial and five-minute divisions read by a single hand. In 2014, MeisterSinger marked a significant milestone by introducing its first proprietary movement, the hand-wound MSH01 calibre, developed with a Swiss partner for the Circularis model. The brand has grown to offer extensive collections including models with complications like jumping hours, dual time zones, moon phases, and power reserves—all while maintaining the signature single-hand philosophy. In 2025, MeisterSinger exhibited at Watches and Wonders for the first time, introducing the Kaenos collection featuring integrated bracelets.
