Heritage brand founded in 1871 in Pforzheim, Germany, evolving from numismatics and medal minting to Swiss watchmaking through a partnership with QI Group.

In 1871, Bernhard Heinrich Mayer, a 28-year-old metal engraver, established his workshop in Pforzheim, Germany, a town known as 'Goldstadt' for its jewelry and watchmaking industry. The workshop earned a reputation for high-precision precious metal craftsmanship, winning a silver medal at the World's Fair in Paris 1900. The Mayers minted coins and medals for central banks and governments, and were chosen as the exclusive manufacturer of gold and silver medals for the 1936 Berlin Olympics. The founder developed a passion for engraving pocket watches. In the 1990s, inspired by coin watch trends pioneered by Corum, the company produced its first coin watches. In 2000, the Mayer family formed a strategic partnership with QI Group and moved operations to Biel, Switzerland. The brand celebrated 150 years in 2021 with commemorative limited editions. In 2024, it launched the COSC-certified Wave Rider chronometer.
