Swiss watchmaker founded in 1837, revived in 1991 and relocated to Florida, known for bold designs at affordable prices.

Invicta was founded in 1837 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland by Raphael Picard with a vision to create high-quality Swiss timepieces at affordable prices. The name 'Invicta' is Latin for 'invincible.' The original Swiss company operated successfully for over a century but went bankrupt during the 1970s quartz crisis. In 1991, American businessman Eyal Lalo acquired the brand rights and relocated operations to Hollywood, Florida. Under Lalo's leadership, Invicta was repositioned as a value-oriented brand offering bold, oversized designs at accessible price points. The modern company produces over 1,500 new models annually, ranging from entry-level watches with Japanese movements to Swiss-made collections. Invicta has secured licensing agreements with major entertainment properties including Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, and the NFL, creating themed watch collections. The brand operates through direct sales, home shopping networks, and retail partnerships.
