Garrick
ActiveBritish fine watchmaker creating bespoke timepieces. Produces maximum 50 watches annually with in-house movements.
Founded in 2014 by watch collector David Brailsford and watchmaker Simon Michlmayr, Garrick was established to revive British watchmaking traditions. The company launched with the Shaftesbury and Hoxton models, initially using heavily modified Swiss movements while manufacturing cases, dials, and hands in the UK. In 2016, they debuted the Portsmouth featuring their first in-house movement, the Calibre UT-G01, developed with assistance from independent watchmaker Andreas Strehler. The brand has since developed four proprietary calibers (UT-G01 through UT-G04), all featuring the Trinity free-sprung balance made from Sircumet, a non-magnetic alloy exclusive to Garrick. The S4 model released in 2021 became a breakout success, proving high-quality independent watchmaking could be relatively attainable. In 2024, they introduced the S2 Deadbeat Seconds, showcasing advanced complications.
