Cvstos is a Swiss luxury watch manufacturer founded in 2005 by Sassoun Sirmakes and Antonio Terranova. The brand name derives from the Latin word 'Custos' meaning 'guardian' or 'keeper of time'. Known for bold tonneau-shaped cases and avant-garde designs, Cvstos combines innovative materials like titanium, carbon, and palladium with both Swiss-standard movements and proprietary in-house calibers for high complications. The brand specializes in sports-oriented luxury timepieces with collections inspired by motorsport, yachting, and aviation.
Cvstos was established in 2005 when Sassoun Sirmakes was just 21 years old. As the son of Vartan Sirmakes, co-founder and CEO of Franck Muller Watchland Group, Sassoun grew up immersed in haute horlogerie. He partnered with Antonio Terranova, a trained micro-technical specialist who had previously worked as a designer at TAG Heuer and freelanced for prestigious brands including Zenith, Breitling, and Ebel. The founders combined their expertise to create distinctive tonneau-shaped timepieces that bridge traditional Swiss craftsmanship with contemporary design. The brand has collaborated with motorsport personalities including MotoGP rider Dani Pedrosa (from 2013) and Loris Baz (from 2016), releasing limited edition chronographs in their honor. Over 20 years, Cvstos has developed approximately 25 proprietary calibers in partnership with Telos Watch, including impressive double tourbillon movements, while maintaining its headquarters in Meyrin near Geneva.
