Swiss watch brand founded in Lucerne in 1888, known for pioneering peripheral rotor technology in its in-house calibers. The brand was shut down by Rolex in 2025 after 137 years.

Carl Friedrich Bucherer opened a jewelry and watch shop in Lucerne in 1888. His two sons followed him into the business, one as a watchmaker and the other as a goldsmith. The company developed chronographs with subdials, tachometers, and big dates in the 1949-1959 period, followed by world timers. By the 1960s-1970s, Bucherer became one of the top three Swiss chronometer manufacturers and produced the Archimedes Supercompressor, water-resistant to 200m. In 2001, Carl F. Bucherer launched as an autonomous watch brand with the Patravi TravelTec. The 2008 CFB A1000 caliber introduced a peripheral rotor with 55-hour power reserve. The CFB A2000 followed in 2016, and the CFB T3000 with a floating peripheral tourbillon debuted in 2018. The MR3000 caliber combined a peripheral rotor with a peripheral minute repeater in 2021. In August 2023, the Bucherer family sold the company to Rolex through Bucherer AG. In February 2025, Rolex announced it was shutting down the Carl F. Bucherer brand.
