Clerc traces its watchmaking history to 1874 in Geneva. Gérald Clerc continued the family business with mechanical watches and the Hydroscaph range of dive watches. The modern company CLERC SA was entered in the commercial register in 1998. It entered bankruptcy in August 2018 and was deleted from the register in October 2020 after closure of the bankruptcy proceedings.
