Ref. 7500U/000G-B993
Vacheron Constantin's Métiers d'Art Tribute to Explorer Naturalists - Terre de feu, reference 7500U/000G-B993, is a limited edition case in white gold measuring 41 mm across and 11.73 mm thick. The green dial combines hand engraving and enamelwork, drawing on the voyages of naturalists aboard the Beagle in the 1830s, and sits under a sapphire crystal. Inside is the self-winding calibre 1120 AT/1, stamped with the Hallmark of Geneva and carrying a 40 hour power reserve. Rather than conventional hands, it displays the hours by jumping wandering satellite. A sapphire caseback shows the mechanism at work. The watch is fitted to a green alligator leather strap secured by a folding clasp in white gold. Water resistance is a modest 30 metres, in keeping with its dress proportions.
