The Vacheron Constantin Fiftysix day-date, reference 4400E/000A-B437, has a steel case measuring 40 mm across and 11.6 mm thick. The silver dial sits under a sapphire crystal and shows luminous hands and indices alongside a central seconds hand. Inside is the self-winding calibre 2475 SC/2, certified with the Hallmark of Geneva and holding a 40-hour power reserve, which is displayed on the dial along with the day and date. A sapphire caseback lets the movement show through. The watch is fitted on an alligator leather strap closed with a steel folding clasp. Water resistance is a modest 30 metres, enough for everyday wear but not for swimming.
