Ulysse Nardin's Hourstriker Samourai, reference 6109-130/SAMOURAI, is a platinum watch measuring 43 mm across. The case is Platinum 950 and holds a dial reconstructed from Japanese prints, depicting the duel between Miyamoto Musashi and Sasaki Kojiro. A sapphire crystal covers the dial, and the self-winding calibre UN-610 drives the movement, offering 40 hours of power reserve. The standout complication is the hourstriker function itself, which chimes the hours on demand rather than merely displaying them. This is a limited edition, one of only 18 pieces made. The watch is fitted to an alligator leather strap. Water resistance is modest for the type: the case holds to 30 metres.
