Ulysse Nardin Blast Skeleton X

Ulysse Nardin's Blast Skeleton X, reference 3716-260/03, comes in an 18 ct rose gold case measuring 42 mm across. The case stands 10.65 mm thick and pairs the gold with a sapphire crystal over an openworked dial. Inside is the manual-winding calibre UN-371, a manufacture movement built from the outset as a skeleton construction. It runs on a silicon escapement and stores 96 hours of power reserve, which is unusual for a movement this heavily cut away. The skeletonized architecture leaves the bridges, mainspring and going train visible from the dial side. An alligator leather strap closes the piece. Water resistance is set at 50 metres, modest for a watch built more for display than depth.
