The Richard Mille RM 53-01 Tourbillon Pablo Mac Donough has a cable-suspended movement and laminated sapphire glass. Limited to 30 pieces, the watch uses manual-winding calibre RM53-01 to drive hours and minutes. A peripheral baseplate fixed to the case supports the tensioners, while a central plate carries the gear train and winding mechanism. Two braided steel cables pass through ten pulleys and are anchored by four tensioners. Rotating a spline screw at each tensioner's centre adjusts cable tension, and the crystal receives anti-reflective and UV coatings. Two sheets of sapphire glass separated by a thin polyvinyl film form the laminated construction.
