Patek Philippe Rare Handcrafts 5177R-012 is a 38 mm case in rose gold, part of a limited series of ten pieces. The case measures 8.3 mm thick and carries a sapphire crystal over the display back, through which the calibre 240 self-winding movement can be viewed. The pink dial is worked in guilloché, cloisonné and flinqué enamel, depicting a mariachi figure holding a rose in a Day of the Dead motif, a technique demanding multiple firings and dozens of enamel colours. Dauphine-style hands in rose gold mark the time. A chestnut calfskin strap with hand stitching closes with a pin buckle in rose gold. Patek Philippe rates the case to 30 metres of water resistance.
