The Omega Speedmaster First OMEGA in Space, reference 310.30.40.50.06.001, is a chronograph with a 39.7 mm steel case. It measures 13.38 mm thick with a lug-to-lug span of 48 mm. The blue-grey dial sits under a sapphire crystal shaped to resemble hesalite, with anti-reflective treatment on the underside. Inside is the manual-winding calibre 3861, a Co-Axial Master Chronometer movement certified by METAS and resistant to magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss, with a power reserve of 50 hours. A tachymeter scale accompanies the chronograph function, and small seconds appear on the dial as well. The steel bracelet closes with a foldover butterfly clasp fitted with a comfort setting. Water resistance is rated to 50 metres.
