RM 009 is a manual-winding tourbillon movement manufactured by Richard Mille and developed in collaboration with Renaud & Papi. The baseplate uses ALUSIC, an aluminum-silicon carbide composite originally developed for Formula 1 applications. The movement achieves an exceptionally low total weight of 29 grams including the strap, and was tested for shock resistance up to 500g. This caliber was introduced in 2005 in the Felipe Massa edition and has been discontinued.
