Omega caliber 1250 is a quartz tuning fork movement based on the ESA 9162, designed by Max Hetzel. Introduced in 1969, it uses a vibrating tuning fork instead of a traditional balance wheel, delivering a smooth sweeping seconds hand without the ticking of conventional mechanical movements. The movement features a date complication and contains 344 jewels. ESA licensed the design to Bulova, and Omega produced a similar caliber 1260 that added a day-of-the-week display.
