Vianney Halter is a French independent watchmaker based in Sainte-Croix, Switzerland. He has been an independent watchmaker since 1984 and founded his own brand in 1994, achieving full creative freedom. Halter works alone in his laboratory using traditional methods and ancient tools. His breakout success came with the Antiqua perpetual calendar in 1998, which is considered one of the primogenitors of modern independent watchmaking. The watch features distinctive porthole-style windows for calendar displays. His Deep Space Tourbillon (2013) features a triple-axis tourbillon inspired by Star Trek's Deep Space Nine station. The Deep Space Resonance (2021) incorporates resonance mechanisms and retails for over CHF 860,000. Halter is known for his unique steampunk-meets-sci-fi aesthetic and is considered one of the most creative minds in independent horology.
