Vianney Halter
ActiveFrench independent watchmaker creating highly complex timepieces with steampunk-inspired aesthetics, working alone using traditional methods.
Vianney Halter has been an independent watchmaker since 1984. He founded his own brand in 1998, achieving full creative freedom. Working alone in his laboratory in Sainte-Croix, Switzerland, Halter uses traditional methods and ancient tools. His breakthrough came with the Antiqua perpetual calendar in 1998, featuring distinctive porthole-style windows for calendar displays, considered one of the foundational pieces of modern independent watchmaking. The Deep Space Tourbillon (2013) features a triple-axis tourbillon inspired by Star Trek's Deep Space Nine station. The Deep Space Resonance (2021) incorporates resonance mechanisms and retails for over CHF 860,000. Halter is known for his unique steampunk-meets-sci-fi aesthetic.
