Boucheron is a prestigious French luxury jewelry and watch house, renowned for its exceptional craftsmanship, innovative designs, and royal clientele. As the first jeweler to establish a boutique at Place Vendôme in 1893, Boucheron has maintained its position as one of the most distinguished names in high jewelry and luxury watchmaking.
Founded by Frédéric Boucheron in 1858 with the opening of his first store in the Galerie de Valois at Palais-Royal during the Second French Empire. He established his atelier in 1866 and won the Gold Medal at the 1867 Exposition Universelle. In 1879, Boucheron developed the revolutionary clasp-less necklace, which helped win the Grand Prix for Outstanding Innovation at the 1889 World's Fair. In 1893, Frédéric Boucheron became the first jeweler to move to Place Vendôme, choosing number 26 for its sunny corner that would make diamonds sparkle brilliantly. After Frédéric's death in 1902, his descendants continued the family business. The house expanded internationally with stores in Moscow (1893), London (1903), and later Japan (1973). In 1994, the family sold to Schweizerhall, and in 2000 Boucheron was acquired by Gucci Group, which was subsequently purchased by PPR (now Kering) in 2004. Notable collaborations include work with Girard-Perregaux (2007) and MB&F (2010) for exclusive timepieces.
