Obaku Denmark was founded in 2007 by Danish entrepreneur Johannes Arvin and Chinese yoga practitioner Catherine Chan. The founders had previously operated a watch manufacturing company since 1992, and combined their passion for watchmaking with a shared love for clean, minimalist design and Eastern philosophy. The brand name derives from Zen philosophy, reflecting the belief in mindfulness, simplicity, and finding beauty in imperfection.
