Farer is an independent British watch company known for its colorful, vintage-inspired designs and Swiss manufacturing. The brand combines British design aesthetics with Swiss craftsmanship, producing distinctive timepieces with vibrant dials across multiple collections including World Timers, GMTs, chronographs, and dive watches. Operating direct-to-consumer, Farer offers affordable luxury watches with 5-year movement guarantees.
Farer was founded in November 2015 in London by four friends and watch enthusiasts: Stuart Finlayson, Jono Holt, Ben Lewin, and Paul Sweetenham. Prior to founding Farer, Sweetenham worked as a watch buyer for a duty-free company with extensive retail experience, while Holt, Lewin, and Finlayson ran a London-based branding and marketing agency. The brand launched with nine quartz watches, named after famous explorers such as George Mallory, Amy Johnson, Martin Frobisher, and Howard Carter. In September 2016, Farer expanded into automatic movements with three watches named after British Royal Navy ships used by explorers (HMS Beagle, HMS Endurance). The brand continued to grow, releasing GMT and dive watches (Aqua Compressors) in 2017, hand-wound cushion-cased pieces in 2018, land speed record themed watches in 2019, and chronograph collections named after pre-war British land speed record holders Ernest Eldridge, John Cobb, and Henry Segrave. In 2020, Farer introduced the GMT Bezel Collection.
