French luxury watch company specializing in aviation-inspired timepieces with distinctive square case designs. Known for professional-grade instruments for pilots, divers, and military personnel, Bell & Ross combines French design aesthetics with Swiss manufacturing excellence.
Bell & Ross was founded in 1992 as a university project by two lifelong friends: industrial designer Bruno Belamich (Bell) and business manager Carlos Rosillo (Ross). The duo shared a vision of creating functional, durable timepieces inspired by professional instruments. Initially, their watches were produced in partnership with German watchmaker Sinn. In 2002, Chanel acquired a minority stake in the company, and the Sinn partnership was dissolved, with production moving to La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. The pivotal BR-01, launched in 2005, established the brand's iconic square case design inspired by aircraft cockpit instruments. In 1998, the Bell & Ross Hydromax set a Guinness World Record for water resistance at 11,100 meters. The company serves as official watch supplier to the French Air Force's Escadron de Chasse 2/4 La Fayette and the French space program. Since 2016, Bell & Ross has partnered with Renault Sport Formula 1 (now Alpine F1 Team).
