Italian watchmaker founded in Florence, known for robust military-inspired dive watches combining Italian design with Swiss mechanical movements. The brand emerged from Florence's watchmaking heritage after Panerai's departure, employing former Panerai craftsmen and utilizing the historic Ambucchi workshop (case-makers since 1939).
Anonimo was founded in 1997 by Federico Massacesi, a former business partner of Salvatore Ferragamo. When Officine Panerai was acquired by Richemont and relocated to Switzerland, Massacesi seized the opportunity to preserve Florence's watchmaking traditions. He partnered with the Ambucchi workshop, renowned case-makers since 1939, to establish Anonimo. The brand quickly gained recognition for its professional dive watches, debuting the Millemetri (120 ATM) in 1997 and the iconic Militare in 2001. In September 2011, founder Federico Massacesi departed the company. In 2013, Anonimo was acquired by a private group of European investors, becoming Anonimo SA with administrative offices moving to Switzerland while maintaining its Italian manufacturing heritage and brand independence.
