Ulysse Nardin Grand Bleu

Ulysse Nardin's Grand Bleu, reference 793-300, has a 44 mm case made entirely of sapphire. The case measures 12 mm thick, and its transparent construction leaves the manual-winding movement fully visible from every angle. The UN-79 calibre drives the watch with 96 hours of power reserve and a flying tourbillon at its centre. A sapphire crystal covers the dial, which shows only hours and minutes, leaving the tourbillon as the visual focus. This is a limited edition of eighteen pieces, and each one comes on an alligator leather strap. Water resistance is modest for a piece built around transparency rather than depth: the case is rated to 30 metres.
