The Rolex Day-Date 40, reference 228396TBR-0031, is a platinum watch measuring 40 mm across. The case stands 12 mm thick and is fitted with a diamond-set bezel, a detail that sets this piece apart within the collection. A Cyclops lens sits over the date on the scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, magnifying it for easy reading. Inside is the calibre 3255, a self-winding movement with a 70-hour power reserve and Rolex's chronometer certification. The slate dial shows day and date alongside luminous hands and indices, and the watch is set with diamonds on the bezel. It rides on a platinum President bracelet fitted with a concealed folding Crownclasp. The screw-down winding crown, part of the Twinlock system, helps keep the case waterproof to 100 metres.
