Rolex Day-Date 40 mm, reference 228396TBR-0021, is cased in 950 platinum measuring 40 mm across and 12 mm thick. The bezel is diamond-set, and the dial itself is paved with diamonds and sapphires, set with 8 baguette-cut diamonds and 2 baguette-cut sapphires at 6 and 9 o'clock. A Cyclops lens sits over the date on the scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. Inside is the calibre 3255, a self-winding perpetual movement certified as a Superlative Chronometer, with a power reserve of approximately 70 hours. The watch shows central seconds, date and weekday, with a screw-down crown securing the case. It is fitted on a platinum President bracelet with a concealed folding Crownclasp. The screw-down crown helps keep the case waterproof to 100 metres.
