Rolex Day-Date 40, reference 228396TBR-0011, cased in platinum at 40 mm. The case measures 12 mm thick and pairs with a diamond-set bezel, a combination platinum affords few other watches in the range. The silver dial is set with diamonds and sits under a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with a Cyclops lens over the date. Inside is the calibre 3255, a self-winding movement with a power reserve of around 70 hours, certified as a chronometer. The watch shows the day and date, a function that gives the Day-Date its name and its category as a calendar watch. It comes on a platinum President bracelet fitted with a concealed folding Crownclasp. The screw-down crown helps hold the case to its 100 metre water resistance rating.
