Rolex Day-Date 40 mm

Rolex's Day-Date 40 mm, reference 228239-0078, is cased in 18 ct white gold with a diameter of 40 mm and a case thickness of 12 mm. A fluted bezel in the same white gold frames the dial, and a Cyclops lens sits over the date on the sapphire crystal. The white mother-of-pearl dial is set with diamonds, giving this chronometer a dressy, jewelled presence. Inside is the self-winding calibre 3255, a manufacture movement with a power reserve of around 70 hours. Alongside the date, the dial shows the weekday and runs a central seconds hand. The screw-down crown protects the movement and works with a President bracelet in white gold, closed by a concealed folding Crownclasp. Rolex rates the case to 100 metres of water resistance.
