Rolex Day-Date 40 mm

The Rolex Day-Date 40, reference 228238-0069, comes in 18 ct yellow gold and measures 40 mm across. The case stands 12 mm thick and pairs a fluted bezel with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, complete with a Cyclops lens over the date. The green ombré dial shades from colour at the centre to black at the edge, an effect achieved with layered lacquer. Inside is the calibre 3255, a self-winding Rolex movement offering approximately 70 hours of power reserve and chronometer certification. The watch shows the day and date, with instantaneous, secure rapid-setting for both. It is fitted to a President bracelet in matching yellow gold, closed with a concealed folding Crownclasp. Water resistance is rated to 100 metres.
