Rolex Day-Date 40 mm

The Rolex Day-Date 40, reference 228238-0059, is a men's watch cased in 18 ct yellow gold at 40 mm across, with a thickness of 12 mm. The bezel is fluted, a Rolex signature carried over into gold on this piece. Behind the sapphire crystal, with its Cyclops lens over the date, sits an onyx dial set with diamonds. Inside is the calibre 3255, a self-winding perpetual movement with a power reserve of about 70 hours and Superlative Chronometer certification. The watch shows the day and date and is set with diamonds on the dial. It is fitted to a President bracelet in yellow gold, closed by a concealed folding Crownclasp. Rolex rates the case to 100 metres of water resistance.
