Rolex Day-Date 40 mm, reference 228236-0018, cased in platinum. The case measures 40 mm across and 12 mm thick, with a fluted platinum bezel that once served a functional purpose and now marks the metal itself. A sapphire crystal with a Cyclops lens sits over the date. Inside is the self-winding calibre 3255, a Rolex manufacture movement certified as a chronometer, offering around 70 hours of power reserve. The dial is ice blue, a colour reserved for Rolex's platinum models, with luminous hands and indices for legibility. Beyond the day and date apertures, the watch runs a central seconds hand. It rides on a platinum President bracelet fitted with a concealed folding Crownclasp. The screw-down winding crown, part of the Twinlock system, keeps the case waterproof to 100 metres.
