Rolex Day-Date 40 mm

Rolex's Day-Date 40 mm, reference 228236-0013, is cast in platinum, a metal the brand reserves for its most formal models. The case measures 40 mm across and 12 mm thick, with a fluted platinum bezel and a screw-down crown. A Cyclops lens sits over the date on the scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, magnifying the slate dial beneath. Inside is the calibre 3255, a self-winding chronometer movement with a power reserve of around 70 hours. The dial shows day and date through apertures alongside central seconds, with luminous hands and indices for low-light legibility. The President bracelet, also platinum, closes with a concealed folding Crownclasp. Rolex rates the case to 100 metres of water resistance.
