Breitling's Superocean Automatic 42, reference A17375211B2S4, comes in a 42 mm steel case, a dive watch built for real use in the water. Thickness measures 12.56 mm, and the black dial sits under a cambered sapphire crystal with glareproofing on both sides. A ceramic bezel rotates in one direction for tracking elapsed time, and a screw-down crown seals the case. Inside is the self-winding calibre Breitling 17, with 38 hours of power reserve. Luminous hands and indices keep the dial legible, and a central seconds hand rounds out the display. The rubber strap closes with a steel folding clasp. Rated to 300 metres, the case is built to handle sustained submersion.
