The Breitling 17 is a 3-hand automatic movement based on the ETA 2824-2, introduced in 1995. It was Breitling's entry-level caliber during this period, offering reliable timekeeping with a 28,800 vph frequency and approximately 38 to 42 hours of power reserve. As an adapted rather than in-house caliber, it provided a cost-effective solution for the brand's core collection. The movement powered many of Breitling's mid-range watches before being discontinued in favor of in-house alternatives.
