Family: 10xx
The 1008/BS is a manual-winding caliber manufactured by Vacheron Constantin, introduced in 1955. Based on the Jaeger-LeCoultre 478, it features hacking center seconds and was developed specifically for the Chronometer Royal line. The movement is not in-house, reflecting a common practice among Swiss manufactures of the era to base movements on proven ébauches. Production has been discontinued.
